The outlook for economic growth continues
to weaken amid the global financial crisis, as both the external and
domestic sectors are likely to slow in the coming quarters. Exports are
expected to contract for the first time in years in the wake of falling
global demand and lower commodity prices. Simultaneously, declining
consumer and business confidence are likely to curb private consumption
and investment, which have been important drivers of the current business
cycle.
